Experience
I began tutoring while I was a junior. I tutored for two years at the Franklin and Marshall College Writing Center. I assisted students on a variety of writing assignments in many different disciplines. I am skilled in all stages of the writing process. I worked with students and taught them how to brainstorm different ideas and evaluate the logic of their arguments, as well as taught them how to check for grammatical and spelling errors. From my experiences, I know that listening to my students first, before questioning them is one of the signs of a great tutor, and that is what I strive to be. Using this method, the student is allowed to show their exact understanding of the subject and the assignments before me, as their tutor, can make assumptions of what they know. As a result, I can create an individual learning plan that will focus on each student's individual needs. I welcome opportunities to work with new students and help them improve their writing skills. In addition to writing, I also offer tutoring in European and United States history. In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my family, playing baseball, and traveling to new places.
